Terms of Use

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms govern Sato (listed on the App Store as “Sato: GLP-1 & Weight Tracker”), its online features, and this website (the “Service”). They are between you and Sato Health LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company, not Apple. Sato Health LLC is responsible for the Service and its content.

The Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain information handling. Acceptance of these Terms does not replace a separate consent required for health-data processing.

2. Medical information & dose tools

Sato does not provide medical care, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or create a clinician–patient relationship. Nothing in the app, AI responses, support messages, or website is individualized medical advice.

Follow your prescriber’s instructions. Do not start, stop, delay, or change medication based on an app estimate, projection, report, or AI response. Ask your clinician or pharmacist about your treatment and symptoms. For a possible emergency, call your local emergency number; Sato and its support inbox are not emergency services.

• Medication curves are models based on recorded doses and published assumptions. They are not measured blood levels and cannot establish an individually safe or effective dose.
• Weight and nutrition projections are uncertain estimates, not guarantees of weight loss, treatment response, or future health.
• Dose converters calculate from values you supply. Verify the prescribed amount, concentration, route, total volume, and syringe scale with the dispensing instructions. Syringe “units” are volume markings and are not interchangeable across all syringe types.
• Titration planning records a plan based on your prescriber’s instructions; it does not select a dose or authorize a schedule change.
• Reminders can be delayed or unavailable. Sato does not continuously monitor your records or alert a clinician. Expiration and beyond-use tracking does not verify sterility, potency, storage conditions, or medication authenticity.

3. Eligibility & use

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement, or be aged 13–17 with a parent or guardian who agrees on your behalf and supervises your use. Sato is not intended for children under 13.

You are responsible for protecting your device, Apple account, and exported records, and for entering and reviewing accurate information. Do not submit another person’s private information without authority to do so.

4. Your license

We grant you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, subject to Apple’s applicable usage rules, including permitted Family Sharing or volume-purchase access. This license does not transfer ownership of the app or its content.

Do not misuse the Service, circumvent purchase or usage controls, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or redistribute licensed food databases, or use the Service unlawfully. Reverse engineering and interoperability rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

5. Free, Sato Plus & tips

Sato is free, with optional Sato Plus and tips. Plus adds weekly reports and their archive, spoken check-ins, food-photo estimates, label scanning, cross-log findings, a typical dose week, pattern findings in clinician PDFs, progress sharing without the wordmark, and custom themes. The purchase screen shows features, price, currency, billing period, and any trial or usage limits.

Plus is monthly or annual, with no lifetime option. It does not guarantee every future feature or separate service. Four one-time tips are available in Settings → Tip jar. They support development, unlock nothing, and do not renew.

Plus renews automatically unless canceled through your Apple account. Trial, offer, renewal-price, and cancellation terms appear before purchase. Apple handles payments, cancellations, and refunds, including tips. Deleting Sato does not cancel Plus. Access usually continues through the paid period, subject to refunds, revocation, or billing status.

Restore eligible purchases in the app with the relevant Apple account. Free tracking and saved log entries remain available when Plus ends; Plus reports, the archive, and other paid features lock. Exported files stay where you saved them. Cloud features need connectivity and may have limits or outages. An outage does not require an upgrade.

6. AI & review of entries

AI can misunderstand speech, foods, labels, quantities, or import columns. This applies to iPhone and Watch check-ins, photos, barcode photos, weekly notes, and import assistance. Check drafts, portions, nutrients, units, dates, and medication details before saving. Estimates are not verified measurements.

Voice and photo processing happens before you confirm an entry. Review controls what enters your log, not the earlier upload. Requested import assistance sends headings and format summaries to OpenAI; check mappings before importing. Our Privacy Policy explains these data flows.

Weekly reviews are calculated on-device. With Plus and your permission, AI writes the top note from the week’s record; otherwise it is written on-device. Reports, projections, and discussion points may be incomplete or wrong. Patterns do not prove causes, and missing logs do not mean no symptoms or food. Sato does not include Ask Sato chat.

7. Food information & attribution

Online food information comes from fatsecret and Open Food Facts. Coverage, servings, nutrient values, and product formulations can vary or change. Confirm package information and portions. Database entries and AI estimates are not a reliable way to rule out allergens or determine whether a food is safe for a medical condition.

By using Sato or this website, you agree to be bound by the fatsecret Platform API Terms of Use for fatsecret content and services. Nutrition information is for recordkeeping and is not a substitute for a physician’s consultation, evaluation, or treatment. fatsecret content remains subject to its applicable rights and license. Your use of Sato does not grant ownership of the underlying food database or permission to extract, resell, or republish it. Product and medication names belong to their respective owners and do not imply endorsement.

8. Your records & third-party services

You keep your rights to the information you provide. We do not own your health records. You authorize processing needed for requested features, subject to the Privacy Policy and any separately required consent.

Keep backups of important information. Sync, imports, exports, Apple Health, notifications, and third-party services can fail or differ across devices. Check imported or synced values before relying on them. Recipients control how they handle shared exports.

Third-party terms, including Apple’s, still apply to their services. External research and website links are for reference; Sato does not control those sites.

9. Availability & termination

We may update features or suspend online access for misuse, security, maintenance, or legal requirements. We give notice of material changes where practicable or required and honor purchased-access and consumer rights.

You may stop using Sato anytime. Cancel subscriptions through Apple and delete records through the data controls. Terms that should continue after access ends, including ownership, applicable liability, and disputes, remain in effect.

10. Warranties & responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is supplied “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of estimates, AI outputs, or third-party information. This does not exclude warranties or rights that the law does not allow us to exclude.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer and privacy remedies.

11. Apple-specific terms

Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Sato. We are responsible for app support and any applicable product warranties. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the applicable app purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no further warranty obligation; other applicable warranty claims are our responsibility.

We, not Apple, handle claims concerning the app or its use, including product liability, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and privacy claims. We are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and resolving third-party intellectual-property claims involving the app.

You represent that you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and are not on a U.S. prohibited or restricted-party list. You must comply with applicable third-party agreements.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the applicable provisions against you after acceptance. These Terms must be read consistently with Apple’s usage rules.

12. Governing law & disputes

Wisconsin law and applicable U.S. federal law govern these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer protections and rights where you live. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive class actions.

For a concern, contact hello@sato-app.com. You do not have to contact us before exercising a legal right or meeting a filing deadline. Disputes may be brought in a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.

13. Changes & general terms

We update this page when Terms change and give advance notice of material changes where required. Changes cannot remove nonwaivable rights. If you decline revised Terms, stop using Sato and cancel future renewals. Refunds follow applicable law and Apple’s purchase process.

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest applies as legally permitted. Not enforcing a provision does not waive it. Business transfers remain subject to privacy, contractual, and consumer obligations.
